Went back to Shibuya. This time the weather was nice compared to the rain the other day.
At the Shibuya train station
Outside the station
The Hachiko statue, a popular meeting place. We didn't take any photos with Hachiko...a bit cheesy....? We should have....
View of the Shibuya crossing from Marks City. It is not really as grand being there. The distance of the crossing is actually quite short and not as huge as it seems on screen. We wanted to get to the higher levels of Excel Hotel/Marks City, which from my research, we can get an aerial view of the Adidas Football Park. But we couldn't find any lifts going to any levels higher than level 6. I thought Marks City is below the Excel Hotel?! Maybe i was wrong. We were kind of exhausted so we gave up looking and moved on to the other areas in Shibuya.
Just outside Marks City
A capsule hotel in Dogenzaka area
I don't know exactly know where we are...I assume this is the Love Hotel Hill area
The Loft store was quite interesting.
Somewhere in Shibuya
A ramen store we had lunch in. Eateries with these coin-operated order machines are preferable, especially for non-Japanese speaking customers like us.
Last look before heading off to Roppongi..but we may still return....
Figuring out how to get to Roppongi as there is no JR line to Roppongi
The underground subway platform, waiting for the subway to Roppongi
We intend to go to Roppongi Hills only as there really isn't much in Roppongi. It is a bit like Bangsar in KL, an area dominated by expats and foreigners. Roppongi Hills is not really interesting, upmarket stores with upmarket prices. The icon of Roppongi Hills below:
Able to view Tokyo Tower from Roppongi Hills. We decided not to go to the Tower itself since there are many more interesting places to visit.
This is a sign stating the conditions of entry to a carpark in Roppongi Hills.
Walking on the border of Roppongi Hills
Koban is police station or kiosk. Generally, we felt quite safe so far.
The TV Asahi Building.

We left Roppongi and decided to return to Akihabara. We didn't get enough of this place on the last visit.
at Akihabara station
Took the following photos while waiting for Kee to get his Gundams
This is how most of the stores in Akiba and Tokyo generally are like - levels and levels of goods. We were already running out of breath by level 3 and will struggle to get up to level 5 and there will usually be another flight of stairs leading further up. We learnt a trick later - take the lift to the highest floor and then make our way downwards..which is obviously less strenuous. But this can be a problem sometimes because there is usually a queue waiting for the tiny lifts. I guess we are not the only smart ones...
I really like the vending machines in Japan....convenient and interesting
We chose this one - a Calpis 'hotto kouhi'
